Deutsche Bahn Interface Redesign
Original title:
DB Automat Redesign
In this project, the ticket vending machine of Deutsche Bahn was analyzed piece by piece. Starting from a simple analysis of the machine to an intensive improvement.
Our priority was to optimize the ordering process for a simple trip ticket.
As a result, many options have already been selected to ensure a quick ticket purchase. In addition, all information has been summarized clearly and in a more sensible order on just one page. This means editing something during the ordering process, or simply skip points that are not which are not relevant for a purchase is much easier.
To improve clarity, we have also used a simpler design with a clear design language.
The design is inspired by the the current corporate design of Deutsche Bahn and could replace the old design design of the ticket machines.
With our interface, it is now possible to buy a ticket for a one-way trip with just 4 clicks.
With the original DB vending machine, this would require at least 10 clicks, which would take more than twice as long.
Feel free to try the Click Dummy.
