Beyond the Seen
Making cognitive biases an interactive experienceOriginal title:
Beyond the Seen - Wahrnehmungsphänomene interaktiv erlebbar machen
Although people communicate in the same language when exchanging messages, it can happen that the content is interpreted differently between people. The same applies to the interpretation of experienced situations. The relationship between people and personal experiences are responsible for the different reactions. Certain patterns occur frequently and are summarized in psychology under perceptual phenomena or cognitive biases. In everyday life, basic knowledge helps us to understand these effects, decisions and actions of our fellow human beings and to avoid misunderstandings.
In this project, a selection of cognitive biases is presented in such a way that they can be made accessible to the general public through an entertaining board game. The individual effects are brought to life interactively using everyday examples. In similar everyday situations that arise later, the player can react more consciously and actively avoid wrong tendencies.
